Visible Light Transmittance
The percentage of visible light (380-780nm) that is transmitted through the glass.
Visible Light Reflectance
The percentage of visible light that is reflected from the glass surface(s).
Solar Transmittance
The percentage of ultraviolet, visible and near infrared energy (300-2500nm) that is transmitted through the glass.
Solar Reflectance
The percentage of solar energy that is reflected from the glass surface(s).
U-Value
Based on standards, a measure of the heat gain or loss through glass due to the difference between the indoor and outdoor temperatures. It is also referred to as the overall coefficient of heat transfer.
Shading Coefficient (Sc)
The ratio of the solar heat gain through a given type of glass to the solar heat gain through a pane of 1/8” (3mm) clear glass under identical conditions. The lower the shading coefficient, the lower the solar heat gain.
